I have just StumbledUpon the website for the book Special Topics in Calamity Physics . It is for a book by an author Marisha Pessl. The illustrative style reminds me a little of Robert Crumb, but it also reminds me of J.K Rowling’s website a little too. However, it is rather fun. I might even see if I can lay my hands on a copy of the book which seems to be a literary ‘mash-up’ of all sorts of fictional characters.

I am enjoying playing with StumbleUpon at the moment. Its a toolbar that you can download to your web browser which allows you to go on a magical mystery tour of websites on subjects you are interested in. The websites included on StumbleUpon have been recommended by other users and you can give them a thumbs up and thumbs down. It’s a nice way of getting to see something new.

I have been looking at Gardening blogs on the web.
The few that I really like are:
http://greenspade.com - a blog on plant terminology and identification. There are some lovely photos and some really excellent illustrations.
http://www.mytinyplot.co.uk - a blog on how to grow a vegetable garden in a tiny space. There are lots of photos and regular updates on how the kitchen garden project is developing
http://www.yougrowgirl.com - a Canadian blog on gardening. Its cheerful tone and fab photos make me want to get out there and do some more digging.
